  • Spohn A-Arms and K-Member??????

Is a package like this worth it for a primarily driven street car/1-2 times a year track car.. Besides weight reduction is there any advantage to having this type setup? Solid motor mounts or stock? Will solid cause alot of vibrations? I had a solid tranny mount for about 4 miles on my car, vibrated so bad I had to remove immediately.. That being said, if I went solid motor mounts, should I try the solid tranny again? Thanks for any input!!!

PS: can you swap the kmember without dropping the motor?

I will be swapping to a tubular k while my motor is out and its only about 25lbs of weight saving as far as I know. I do know that you will not like solid motor mounts if you did not like that tranny mount, you will feel every sound movement and vibration comming from the car. Just upgrade to poly like me. Not sure weather you need to drop the motor or not for the swap but it seems that way.

That's what I thought, just need to support it.. But for 25 LBS I don't think almost 500 bucks is worth it.. Maybe I'll just go with the upper and lower a-arms..

Actually I meant to say poly mount.. Guess I will stick with the stockers...

IMO keep the stock k in the car if your going to street drive it. Much more rigid and for something that holds the whole front end together, i like the feeling of having factory there. I personally hated my tubular K. I know a lot of people are running these set-ups just fine.... but from my experience, i would keep it stock unless you are looking for full potential at the track.

I think that I'll keep the stock K-member.. Doesn't sound like it's worth the change for the way I use my car. Money back in my pocket!!!

Opinions on the A-arms? Worth the change?

Cost to weight ratio doesnt seem worth it to me, in your case atleast.

id skip the a arms and k member but thats me.

i have poly motor and trans mounts and honestly its not that bad but i guess if you want a muscle car with out a slight shake then stay stock

but ive seen my buddys stock mounts at 80k his motor moves ALOT

my lil motor moves but not that much anymore. no complaints

Light weight carpet is a good way to take some weight out of the car. Ozite makes some that looks almost identical to stock and weights like 30+lbs less.

But your at the point now where you have already done the cheap stuff so now to get that few pounds its gonna cost you a few more penny's.

I would go with an after market K-member personally but thats just me. You don't just get weight savings but it also opens up a lot more free space.

I have also heard that a poly motor mount and stock rubber trans mount combo is the way to go. Not the other way around lol
