  • Wheel Size

I wanted to know what the differences are in like going from stock 16in wheels to like 17 all the way around or 18 all the way around or even 17s in the front and 18 in the back. Does it hug the road beter or help with gear ratio cause when you change the wheel size it has to change the speed of rotation a little.

it will only change if the wheel/tire combo is different. If you have a 15in wheel with a large tire on it and a 17in wheel with a small tire on it then you could potentially have the same diameter negating any rotation differences.

And another thing.....when I gun the motor, I want the whole world to think it's coming to an end.

Firehawks come stock with 17x9 rims and 275/40R17 tires. Can be swapped with standard Bird 16" wheels without speedo changes.
Your biggest concern should be the offset, how far out the tire sits in the wheelwell, how far out the axle hub is situated - different makers do them different, so aftermarket wheels have to be matched. using Hawk or SS sheels should come out right on, and I think Corvette wheels are the same.

Handling is vastly better. Don't exceed 275s on a 9inch rim.
Get them properly match-mounted and road-force balanced with the correct machine at the correct facility.

I'd stay with the same size all around, for rotating purposes. Unlike vettes or other junk, F-bodies are quite well balanced in terms of front/back weight ratio, so having the same size tire on all 4 corners is a good plan.

And expect to have your speedo be off because of the size change. I went from the stock 16s with 245s, don't remember the tire height, but now have 17s with 275x40x17 and my speedo is about 5mph off

Yeah 17" X 9.5" and 18" X 11" are corvette sizes. I like the stance it gives you plus that wide rear tire muscle car look. I was going to buy a set of C5's in those sizes. I am now looking at having 18" X 9.5" all the way around.

Just get a programmer so you can plug in whatever size you go to. Then the speedo will be correct. I can do that with my HPP3.
