Bolt in vs. Weld in subframe connectors?

Well I have never welded anything so I'm sure you know better than me.

well back to the original topic which was SUB FRAME CONNECTORS.....i have bolt in SFC's on my car...and i like them a lot. i have the SLP one's with the drive shaft hoop that goes between 'em...i think they work really well...and i am very happy that i have the bolt in ones cause i need to take them out this spring and have 'em sand blasted and re-powdercoated.....as far as which is better...obviously the weld in ones are a bit more rigid and will stiffen the car more....but it's kindof a permanent thing if you go weld in...i'm happy with my bolt in ones...and that's my 2 cents....

To all who state bolt in sfc's are junk. Y'all don't know jack shee-it! Check out the above link. It's what I'm using in my ride. BOLT IN'S, that can also be welded for further stiffness if desired! Expensive? Yep. You get what you pay for. End of story.

bolt ins are definitely not junk, considering that any subframe connectors are better than no subframe connectors. they are simply inferior to weld-ins. to what degree is arguable.

well the kit cat posted is way better than most bolt ins... most you just drill holes and bolt in... thats kinda a cheep way to go about stiffening because its still no stronger than the bolts you put in it... where as that kit mounts under the entire car pretty much utilizes stock locations to bolt in more than a couple places... thats more than most subframe connectors thats pretty much an under cage... tieing in the rockers subframe and floor pans... the only way to make it stronger is to fill the bottom of your car with steal...

if you plan on making big numbers you dont want bolt ins without welding them, the bolts will stretch and move and after time they will be all whopped out. bolt ins for your average joe shmo are ok but if you plan on making big numbers go weld in.

word...my bolt in's are just fine..... besides....mine as well get the bolt ins, then you can throw them up, and weld them later if it's that much better....

either way, you will notice a HUGE improvement in the stiffness and rigidity of your car with them!

well lets see. they were mass producing these cars I would believe time is money sooooo welding = lots of time where as bolt in = a lot less time.

I love my slp bolt ins. I have installed 6 sets for others now and none have had and problems with bolts coming loose or anything.
Mine stiffened the car so much we had to revalve the shocks to get it to turn properly again.
They also helped my car launch straighter and made it more consistant
They also make a great place to jack the car up.
Check out UMI performances new bolt in's. They are nice!
