  • New Brakes! WooT!!

Well, this morning I checked my bank account to see if my "Economic Stimulus" rebate was deposited, and it was. I decided that the money was going to be spent on some much-needed repairs to my car. First things first, I needed some brakes. Who does a brake job and leaves the car looking the same as before? Not me! I also grabbed some caliper paint.

All in all, here's what I did in the last 5 hours:
    -Replaced all four brake rotors
    -Installed Ceramic Pads
    -Painted calipers and caliper brackets

And now for the pics I know you all are waiting for. . . Please excuse the wheels, they are dirty and they aren't in the best shape. . .

EDIT: The only pic I have of the finished product is the last one, I'll snap a few more tomorrow after I detail the car . . .

I'm working tomorrow from 12pm-5pm, then I've got a 5:30 appointment to detail an '08 Ram 1500, but after that, I'll be detailing my car. I really need to, the inside is downright nasty right now, we got some rain last week, and my floormats are covered in mud and dirt. . .

You realize that you have to pay that back to the fed next April right? I put mine into a CD for a year...

No, but I took a friend out to look at a couple of vehicles, and they were parked in a gravel/mud parking lot.

It doesn't have to be paid back. See THIS THREAD (click) for details.

Looks good man! I gotta repaint my calipers (the front right isn't red, the other three are a fading red) - or get bigger calipers...

Good choice in caliper color. I think red is WAY to played out now a days.

That's the same thing I was thinking. I haven't really established the color theme for my car yet, and with only chrome and black accents on the car right now, my options are pretty much wide open, at least until I decide on a few key elements that will come into play later this summer.

Thanks for the compliments, guys! I was really pleased with the results. It's not perfect, far from it, but it is definitely an improvement over what it looked like before.

Oh, and it stops better, too.
