Pretty much what the title says. I have to buy new motor mounts in a day or two. I was considering the polyurethane, one guy told me the vibration is almost as bad as a solid mount, another said its not that bad. Matter of tolerance I guess. So does anybody have them? How Good/Bad are they? Did you notice any power improvements? Any other suggestions?

My cousin had them on his old Mustang. I didn't think the ride/feel of the car was bad. Most of his shitty ride came from his Eibachs with stock shocks. I pan on running them eventually but my stockers are just fine right now. If you're running poly engine mounts you have to run a poly trans mount also, keep that in mind...2005 Yamaha R6

About 2 yrs ago I was having problems with my trans mount (shifter would lift almost an inch out of the console) so I went and replaced it with a new Factory one. When I took the old one off it was torn all the way across. Put the new one on and the same problem happened, just so happens that the drivers motor mount was bad. When we seperated the clamshells the rubber fell out on the floor, the bonding had completely gone away.
Anyway I now have a prothane motor mount on the driver side only and an ES poly trans mount without the preload bar. I used an ES mount with the bar several years ago and hated it, Car felt and sounded like a Sprint Cup Car. I had read several threads about this and the consensus was not to use the preload bar. Yes it does transmit more vibration into the car but it isn't bad. Definetely better than having sloppy rubber mounts.
The transmission mount is the one that produces the most noise and Vibration cause the Crossmember is mounted right under the cabin floor.
As for useing a rubber trans mount with poly motor mounts ?

That really doesn't make any sense to me to be honest. I ran them in my IROC before witht the old motor(s).....they are harsh...I used factory rubber mounts with the LS1 install and it is smooth as glass....love it.sigpicTurbo Charged LS1/T56

well removing the old mounts from the brackets was a PITA. The worst part was trying to get my motor mount bolts in though..... the poly mounts are a b***h to line up with the motor mounts, i struggled with pry bars, hammers, screw drivers, and wrenches for a few hours, lol.sigpic

I put the drivers side one in my car when I was having Y-pipe banging issues. That one mount cured it. Then when I had the engine out I installed the other side also. No noticable diff in NVH and I used to work with NVH/BSR engineers daily so I know a thing or two about it.
So far about 15,000 miles with no complaints or issues even with stock mounts.
There are many theories with mounts. Most used to say you had to run a solid trans mount with solid engine mounts. Other say to use a ploy trans mount. I used solid engine mounts and a poly trans on my ELcamino for along time without an issue
