I had the F1,s on my 99ss Nice but I never drove the car in the ran.
I had to use 1/8 inch wheel spacers . ? depending on what rim you use.

Nittos seem like your best option.

Ive had about every tire combo on an fbody, and all have advantages

For Dr's:

Nitto drags, last forever, fine in the rain, but ya really gotta heat em up to hook. They handle better than bf drags

Bf drags, last for about a year, sticky always hook, throw gravel, and not safe on wet roads, handle like the sidewalls are made of pudding.

Stree tires:

F1Gsd3s are awesome, and just as good as michelin pilot sports. worth every penny here. handle great, and I cut consistent 1.9x 60s at the track with a 6 spd.

Unless its a KD, id opt for the other tires, but the KD is nice and sticky too, with great handling. I had KDW and they felt like snow tires but lasted forever.

Nittos on a 6 speed car can be kind of hard on the driveline, but they are definitely worlds apart from any street tire.

I have an auto, so i'm not really worried about the axle, but I am about the tranny. I have a feeling that a cpt trans or similar might be in my near future.

but, heres the catch, they all perform very similiarly, yet one costs way less than the others. which one is it? its the f1 gs-d3, which i believe is by far the best deal for your money. go with them, i have used them for two summer years now and i wouldn't switch to anything else.
forgot to mention they are also the best performing wet summer tire on the market

VERY F'in ouch... heres the story, the reason why nittos were on was the car was going into storage 2 days before this... awesome michigan weather and some old lady running a red = a wrecked Trans Am thats I switched to PLPD 3 days before...so you can imagine how I felt, and still feel about the situation...

this time I have full coverage, gap, and new tires... but this time i have no other car to drive...

if your going to drive in summer and rain now and agian get the nittos if you want to take it to the strip F1s are greast tires but not for the strip and street. for you 555Rs are suited best IMO

Nitto's are the stuff, When mine have tread on them I swear they hook better in the rain than my semi bald street tires.
