  • Loose Steering Wheel

My wheel is "loose", meaning that you can turn it a bit before it turns the wheels. I've heard rag joint before.

    Any ideas?

Well, I think it just is something up of the steering box, or at it, since the wheel movement isn't sloppy. If the keys are out, under the hood, I can turn the steering steering shaft until it hits the point where the wheel locks. When the keys are out, I have to move the wheel to the end of the looseness for it to lock.

        Where's the rag joint?

I really don't think the problem but here it is. My Car has 200k on it and the original is still good.
Robbed this Picture from James's Engine swap thread as it clearly showed it.

sounds like what my friends cavalier did, but his steering was no longer attached to the firewall due to rust..
