you have a stock LS1 clutch though wade. I drove jons stock LS1 clutch before he cooked it and it was serious weaksauce in comparison to my spec 3. Everything else you say though, i agree with. pre-load definitely saves 10 bolts.Originally posted by GETGONE View PostI regularly launch at 4k or higher on my MT DR's. I've even launched off the rev limiter once to see if the tires would break loose at the track(they did!) The trick is to ease into the clutch, not just flat out yank your foot and immediately get full engagement. That shocks the driveline less and saves the rear.
PS if youve been launching that high its a miracle you havent cooked those trans parts yet, jon didnt even have drag radials when he melted his fork pads.Last edited by JoeliusZ28; October 20th, 2007, 09:53 AM.-Joel

yea its 750 to just buy a set out-right. I think its going to be fairly simple to do. The machined edge is already there. my dad has some amazing paint stripper that comes in an aerosol can. all you do is spray it on and the paint practically turns into rubber that you can peel off in minutes. once the paints gone, all i really have to do is mask the wheel off... lightly sand and paint the black areas. then clear coat the whole thing. it should be a piece of cake.Originally posted by DETROITMUSCLE View PostMatt just bought some prostars, ballin.
Anyhow Joel I think those anniversary wheels look great but they seem to be at a high demend and I would be impressed if it was that easy to replicate but I hope for the best for ya.
if i end up having problems with the machined surface, im going to sand (by hand, ugh) it off and polish the faces to a chrome finish... which im thinking about doing anyway for a unique touch.-Joel

Those are going to be cool when done. I want to get the inside of my wheels powder coated. They are a pain to try to polish.

i just tried putting these on the car tonight and to my dismay discovered i need to do the "dremel mod" to the wheels to make them fit over the hub. so i couldnt try them out in the brief break i took from my paper. maybe thanksgiving break...-Joel
