So I got a left rear flat tire on the way to school today. I pull into a student lot and park there for time being. Just perfect timing as its now raining in MI now. I go to take it off and realize that I dont have my special tool to take it off. Went to all the area auto places and no one has any idea except have the car towed there and they could take it off. Any one have any ideas? I was supposed to go home tomorrow and I really need to get this delt with. Thanks Nathan

You try hammering a socket on it? Its kinda redneck but it does work sometimes.Western Michigan Camaro Club ~ President

My dad put them on his mustang back in the 80's and lost the key sometime while moving from Royal Oak to Goodrich back in 1986. Last year when we started to restore the car we took some old lug nuts and welded them on to the locking lugnut and zipped them off with the impact. Not an option considering your car is in a parking lot2005 Yamaha R6

I think its a common lug key that any Camaro or Firebird has. I could be wrong. I wouldn't be surprised if a tire shop has a few on hand. Then again, they strip them all the time.

i work at discount tire, this happens all the time. go to any local auto part store and buy a "burn off" socket, its just a round socket with a grooved teeth spiral on it. hammer it on and remove it off easily. works like a charm everytime-Mike

Well i found my self angry, with a hammer, so i just broke the lug nut right of. After that the tire came off with no problems.
Worst thing about it is, i dried off the tire that was flat.....and there looks to be nothing wrong with it. Im actualy very confused. I seen the tire with air in it, drove like half a mile and it made a "pushe" sound, so i pulled in. Worst of all....I got a ticket. Parked out in the middle of no where, raining, with a comuter parking pass, not resedintial pass and they gave me a $20 ticket. Thanks for adding insult to injury grand valley. Today just sucks. Thanks everyone that helped, if I make it home this weekend I will normal lugnuts.
