  • Screwed!+question about being truly screwed.

I just got my new springs for my new car and was going to take off the wheels when I realized that there was a locking nut on each...the previous owner said that it didnt. None of my keys work of course. Besides stripping the lugs, is there anyway to get these off? Even though they are locking does make/sell a generic/magical key to take these off? If not im going to buy a new set...but still need these old ones off!

We are restoring my dad's mustang and to get his locking lugs off (cause he lost the key like 20 years ago) we welded on a factory lug and zipped it off that way. Took like 2 minutes a wheel.

I've had that problem too, and took it to Discount and they had it off in a matter of minutes. And they didnt even charge to do it since I bought a new set of locking lug nuts.

They just keep an honest person honest. Kind of like Door locks. Thieves will take them anyway locks or not.

I wanted one physically in the car, so I picked one up at the dealership for $10.

Pretty much it, just like locking your house, it will only keep the honest person out. If they want in, they will get in.
