Did you post about this on TGO? Someone over there was trying to make a targa panel in a light weight Lexan for racing, but I think without removing the t-bar, so they could go back to production Ts post-race.

Haven't posted there yet. I want to get further along before I do that. I just wanted a reaction out of my friends here first. While one large lexan panel would ultimatly be lighter it'd be hard to transport in the car. What I'm trying to do is fabricate a way to temporarally install the black t-top bar on the car so I can retain the t-tops when it rains etc. but be able to remove them and the center bar at will to have it like this on nice weather days. Just an extra step from what we do with t-tops anyway. Shouldn't be too hard, perhaps duz fasteners or such. I have the windshield weather striping from a convertible on order and I'll use a small piece from some other similar weather stripping to close the gap at the back. Should be a fun project.
