  • [Project] Performing a V6 to V8 swap. Missing the tach signal destination.......

On the 99-02 F bodies with traction control, the tach signal leaves the pcm and goes to the c105 pin G, then to the EBCM before the data is transferred to the gauge cluster. But what about on the non-traction control cars. Mitchell does not show where the signal wire goes from a non-traction control vehicle, just that it goes to the EBCM. But it shows two diagrams for the EBCM. One with traction and the tach signal wire is present. Then one without traction and there is no tach wire in the diagram. Has anyone else run into this issue???? On these cars you cannot go directly to the gauge cluster with the tach signal as the diagrams show the cluster getting data in the form of solid state logic probably from the BCM is my understanding. Thanks in advance for any help!
