This will be a very conserative paced build, but I will try to be as detailed as possible. First off, the car:

factory 3.42 rear with G80 posi traction option
The engine was locked and the trans was already removed at purchase. The only body damage was a cracked pass fender. Paid $650 for the body and scraped the motor for $40, so $610 total. Next I purchased a WS6 front bumper, high rise rear hatch, pass fender, and aftermarket ram air hood. Total $600 for all body parts. New total for car is $1210 and I still need the Trans Am rear bumper.
Next is the engine. I have a iron 6.0l that was bored .065 over and stuffed with LS3 pistons and rods. Scored the set of low mile "take out" piston and rods on LS1Tech for $150 shipped. There was barely any carbon on any of them. Its a performance shop in Texas that builds up LS motors, and sometimes they sell the useable stockers. I aluminum blasted these and "Chaps Automotive" in Detroit on E. Grand Blvd did the block work and assembled the short block. Thanks Tom at Chaps! Total for machine work including assembly, new rings, all new bearings, decking the block, and line honing was $800. Very pleased with the work.
I also picked up some brand new L92 heads a year ago, which I hand ported. Paid $450 for the heads. I have a set of Manley .650 lift dual springs. Picked these up from a Ebay seller for $150. Cam is a copy of the Comp cam 231/247 .617/ .624 113 lsa. This guy made 497rwhp N/A with this same cam, same cubes, bone stock motor , stock intake, with only upgrade 1 5/8" eBay headers:http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=87192
This is what sold me on buying this cam. This was another forum find for $200. Thsi was suposed to be a N/A build. Then it all hit the fan. While searching the net I found this article. They used the same cam (with the exception of lees duration on the exhaust side of .239 vs. .247). All in a 5.3l turned 383 stroker with 317 heads. It was bored from 3.78 to 3.898, then boosted!!! The 113 lsa was the key according to this article. Not much of a turbo guru, just learning from others. I'm sure there is a ton of other cams I could use, but I'm going to follow their build and see the results I get.
