  • [Project] Cammed 5.3 S10

Time to start the build thread. I just picked up a SOLID 95 S10. There is virtually NO rust besides surface wise on the frame. This was purchased in MI, but has to be a southern truck. Had some parts from my previous build (L92 Notchback), so here we go again!

    Plans:

    2002 5.3 from a Tahoe

    Livernois Stage 2 LS camshaft

    F-body shorty headers

    2 1/2" true dual with X-pipe

    Spiral flow bullet mufflers

Rear end swap (posi-traction with disc brakes and 3.73 gears)

    4L60E w/shift kit

    2600 stall converter

    Rear roll pan conversion

18" AR Rebels (18x8.5 fronts and 18x10.5 rears)

more under the bed. surface rust on frame.

more under the bed. pretty clean

I'll address the frame and POR15 it when the bed and front end come off for paint. It has a Maaco special right now.

Very curious to see the progress on this! Almost did this exact project a few months back when a buddy's S10 blew up the engine, but I decided I didn't need the hassle right now.

They're fun little trucks, sold my '99 4.3 xtreme a couple months ago.

I have to replace the rear bumper due to it getting smashed while the previous owner was pushing it. It also has one dent in the passenger door that'll need to be bumped out.

The paint is flaking on tailgate, but no damage or rust

I want to do the roll pan with rear step delete kit

Any suggestions? What would make this build worth watching?

Mine was going to be a daily driver so it was just going to be a bone stock swap that looked like it came from the factory. Only suggestion is to keep it clean and I'm sure it'll come out great!
