The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!

Wish I woulda thought of the carpet cleaning at the car wash - though transporting it would've been interesting...
The plan is for Megan (my girlfriend) to drive it as her DD for a year or two, mainly till her last accident is about off her insurance, in which case she's planning on buying a new Cruze.

Getting it to and from the car wash would have not really been possible, though. I'd need a truck for that
But who knows - maybe I'll be bored next summer and pull it all out again haha. I'd like to take the seats out and paint the frames so they're not-rust color.
...or throw a pair of 4th gen Fbody seats in there, since apparently they're a direct bolt in...

Progress from today 9-13-12
Bought a new pair of front side marker lights, since both were missing part of the lens. The left marker had condensation in it, and the bulb didn't work either. Turns out the socket is corroded due to the condensation, so I'll either have to clean it up, or purchase another.

Changed the oil yesterday, nothing special. That filter isn't quite in the nicest place, but I was pleasantly surprised to see it wasn't torqued on with 152378 lb-ft of torque, and I was able to hand-loosen it...since none of the filter wrenches fit at Advance Auto.
I had the door panel off because I was attempting to fix the passenger door issue...maybe someone has an idea of what I can do. In order to open the door, you have to pull on the lock (or turn the key and hold it on the exterior), and then pull on the handle, sometimes it can be a little tricky. Having the door panel off, it seems like the handle linkage all works correctly - but the lock just doesn't go back far enough when it's unlocked, hence having to pull on it. Couldn't really see into that part of the door, and feeling the area didn't help much.
You might be missing some plastic bushings that are usually in the lock and door handle mechanism that the rod goes into. Usually if these are broke or missing you don't get full travel of the rods.

It's possible. It's really tough to see into the door where it connects, so maybe I can find a picture of a new part and compare.
It threw a code yesterday, P0440, which is an EVAP code. The previous owner said he got the code, installed a new gas cap and it went away. Then he dropped said new gas cap and it came back.
If it is the gas cap, which is likely, that could be accounting for the occasional starting issue where it takes a few seconds while cranking to start ("leaking" gas cap, not allowing pressure to build up). Generally starts fine, just occasionally.
Did our first tank of gas and with about 15-20% city, it got 26.8 mpg. That was with yesterdays colder morning and the whole ride into work with the heat on, as well as a trip to work before we put new tires on it (a pair of Kumho Solus KR-21 out back). Megan also is getting used to driving the car and sometimes has a little lead foot . There's no tach to keep an eye on revs, since it's the base trim level. And the 3-speed auto with it's 1:1 3rd gear ratio and 3:18 final drive isn't nearly as efficient on the freeway as the 4-speed auto with OD. Oh...and it has 214k miles . Some seafoam should help!

You haven't run any police road blocks lately have you? Looks a lot like a stop stick the we see in the tires a the local PD's cars every time the have a pursuit.
Second guess would be a rollpin.
