  • [Project] Drunk project ??????

So, if you were me, and most of you know me... what would you do(Sean your answer does not count). Delete ABS and TCS and just throw a 9" in the ***** and save a couple dollars or buy a 4 channel 9"? My only negative against a 4 channel 9" is I won't be able to run a 28" tall tire in the back without setting off abs/tcs... Please see WMCC James comment below in my sig.. lol I was bored...

Tire size has to be changed in the PCM
Anyway to make it shift. So abs won't be an issue

it will still set off the light though because the tires will be more than 1" difference in height. Mine does it and while I can see the annoyance I still say go through with it. Your car will never see any bad weather anyways so abs is prob useless.

Who needs abs anyways? Let alone power brakes at all!??! Way over rated in my opinion

There has to be a way the ABS module can be programmed for different size tires.

Unless you plan on driving the car in the rain or letting your wife drive it I don't see the need for ABS or TCS. Just unsodder the bulb in the dash and don't worry about it.

I would say keep them. You never know, might end up saving your life one day.

HAHA, I only had 2 beers when I got home last night. I was soo damn tired, I forgot I posted this... I have a year to decide.. Still on the fence.. The car does not see rain or snow, so we'll see.. Honestly, the ABS has never engaged in the 6 years I've owned the car.. TCS is annoying when you forget to turn it off..

This can now be turned into a Brent thread full of useless comments from this point forward...

Keep the 4ch, remove the TCS via logic module, reprogram PCM for 28", make a damn decision and get back to drinking

Ditch it - it's not safe with staggered tire sizes. Mine is coming off this spring.

With 28" tires in the rear, driving through the pits, burnout and running down the track doesn't give the abs system time to figure itself out. So you'll only have the front left brake and right rear brake slowing you down, which can get pretty hairy if your not on your game.

I had to pull the fuses - to disable abs, which in turn gives me brakes - but it makes my calipers drag too.

There is a write up on tech showing which wire to ground to disable the light without taking the dash apart as well.

I would be very interested in a link.. If you happen to stumble across it.. Thanks..

Edit: Just did a quick search, seems this was done to 98 only cars... It appears it does not work on 99-02 cars..

I was wondering why my car didn't want to stop for shit on big end of the track. Good to know.
