  • [Project] Can't figure out why the car won't start after gasket job.

After we got everything put back together this morning, we turned the key, and the only thing we are getting is a good strong crank, but it won't fire. We have spark, and fuel. We are thinking that it has to be something electrical, like a connector or something, but if anyone has experienced something like this, any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated, as I am leaving FL for MI on Monday or Tuesday....have to get this shit figured out.

Lets start by not making 3 threads for the same problem.

Second. You dont have spark and fuel. If you did, it would be running. Check ignition control module connection, coils, look over your wiring. Check connectors on the top of the injectors.

Spark plug wires hooked up right?

      #1: it'll be okay.
#2: I do have spark. Fuel is reaching the rails and injectors, but must not be going into the combustion chamber. ICM connector is fine, coils are good, wiring is correct, injector connectors are good. I'm going to recheck every connector and the grounds after work.
      Thanks for the thoughts though.

sounds like some wiring is messed up which is not telling the injectors to fire when needed..

I cleaned up the multiple threads.

          Are the plugs wet?

Ground straps on the back of the head(s) ?

Plug in the brake booster line in the back of the intake? A vac leak that large might not let it start

Figured it out on Thursday night... can't believe it lol. It turned out to be that my fuel injector fuse had somehow blown. WTF? At least we didnt do anything wrong! And I can definitely feel a little difference after the p&p job, but can't wait to get the headers and z28 exhaust on.
