  • [Project] So it begins 1993 Z28 with 70K miles...

Well I think I lost interest in my 85 Iroc-Z. The iroc is still in the garage but I snagged this the other day for $2800 off of Craigslist. It has only 70K on the clock. So I am relieved to have a running Camaro that I can actually take on the street. Its ironic that I get it registered and then it snows like nuts. I wanted to drive it at least a little.

Its a 1993 Z28 with Flowmaster exhaust and cold air intake.

    So far I am planning...

    1. Turbo Thrust II wheels
    2. Leather interior
    3. New Headliner
    4. New switchs for window and locks.
    5. C5 Brakes
    6. Dropping it down a bit (doing research on 4th gens)
    7. Kicking around some ideas for a hood.
    8. Goodbye Delco Cassette deck.

I have to say the headliner is job 1 right now. Why is it every Camaro I buy has a saggy headliner? At least one has to have stuck.

        Good luck with the project.

As far as springs go, STAY AWAY FROM EIBACH!

I'm ordering a set of Vogtlands... they manufacture the springs for Strano and are similar as far as I'm concerned. They're about $200 shipped on eBay right now and lower the car about 1.2" from what I've read. I've also read they have a lifetime "no-sag" guarantee. The reviews say they aren't the best for road racing, but they give the car a great stance and overall aren't bad for such a low price.

Joel listed it in the craigslist thread Thursday? I thought I mentioned it to you.

Sorry for the typos, I must have been super tired last night. That's why you don't sleep and forum post. Maybe my mind did that subliminally because I was looking for a 1992 Z for so long when I stumbled across this 4th gen.

Yes its a 1993 Z28 with an LT1 and a few mods. The body is super clean, it needs a headliner for sure and window and lock switches. When I get a second it sounds like I might be down a few speakers but thats not a big deal as the original cassette deck will be out eventually.

I'm thinking about ordering a headliner from these guys...

                          http://www.stockinteriors.com/Headli...d=5&ModelId=71

They have plastic headliner back boards and it seems much less likely to drop the headliner. I'm 6'3 and having a headliner hang into your hair is a pain.

So sounds like the previous owner was here with the same car, be cool to know a little more about the car's history and find out why he sold it so cheap.

I don't think so, Joel posted it up in the craigslist thread and I thought it was a good deal but for it to have less than 100,000 miles is a AWESOME DEAL. I assumed it had 140,000+ miles and to me would have been priced about right for the things that need to be fixed and the time of the sale(just after Christmas).
