You're right Jeff, in the regard that the Q-jet is running good, but if there is a problem with one of the 20 something circuits, then you have a problem. Jon, don't go with the vac sec, and honestly, I'd stay away from spread bore altogether. Mech sec is a great way to go to more readily enrichen when you're wanting to get up and go quick. I've run Holleys for years and can't say any problems have come up. If it was lean, I'd throw in bigger jets, if I needed a little more lift, I'd throw in the 75cc power pump. Couldn't be more straight forward. I was never a big fan of needles, but then there are those out there that like those (ie: Edelbrock).

I believe Weiand has that SFI setup that would make it so that you just tune it from inside the car. You'll have to run O2s with it though. On the other hand, you get the PCM, intake, injectors, sensors and everything to get together.

And Advertised Duration means very little.

Make sure you use an off Road oil like Brad Penn, Deisel Rotella T, or an oil with a ZDDP additive.

There are many differant ways to build a motor. I still cant figure out why hes wasting his time with a small block when swaping a big block into a third gen is easy as pie? big cubic inch, big heads, big power. But Jon has parts now, so I guess its to late to step it up, lol. Go big cubic inch, or big technoligy, or go home. Eric L

so if you dont want a lot of horsepower why are you going with a solid lifter and such a big cam?

I would think a 230/236 duration cam like the comp 306 we use in the lt1s would suffice, but its your car, and you have to be happy with it. Just remember this. It dosent matter how much horsepower you make at 7500 rpm, if you never go over 5500.....................and trust me, you spend a LOT more time below 3000 rpm than you do over. A nice broad torque curve is a must on a street motor. Ive said my peace, Eric L
