Anyone know what size the bolts are that bolt the bellhousing to the back of the block on an m6 lt1? There's 6 bolts and somehow I wound up loosing them..I can get new bolts I just need to know the sizes.. I called multiple dealerships and half of them couldn't tell me the sizes and the other half gave me different sizes which none of them worked..

Been a little bit before ive updated but ive been quite the busy bee...i had to put in and take out the block a couple times, was having problems with headers and my solid motor mounts but finally got it in. ordered powermaster high torque starter and had to order more fuel line, fittings, and a few other things. ive been up for like the last 40 hours getting this thing finished, still need the bolt for the clutch fork..some how lost that thing, ill call the dealer tomorrow to get the sizes of that bolt and pick it up from the hardware store in the morning and i can just toss the trans in, other than that its pretty much ready to start, have to trim my tps a little so i can get the voltage right with the computer but thats about it... gonna probably crash for a bit and sometime when the sun is up ill try firing this thing for the first time...would do it now but dont want to make the neighbors mad...open headers at 430am isnt very cool lol. hopefully ill have a video for you guys in about 8 hours..

alright so im having a pretty epic problem with an oil leak....when i crank the motor i have a lot of oil coming out of the top of the block...right by where the oil temp sensor goes...only problem is its not coming from that sensor of the hole you screw the sensor into....i tried to look at it the best i could with my little mirror and it looks like its coming from under the driver side cyl head...need some help here..pretty bad...i REALLY dont want to take that head off...
if anyone lives close to westland (275 between 94 and 96) and would want to help me find/fix this oil leak that would be awsome...Last edited by Caveman; June 10th, 2010, 12:06 PM.< Black Betty >

You might have to post a new thread to get more people seeing that you need help but it sounds like either the intake manifold or the head wasn't torqued down all the way or your gaskets are crap. LT1s are known for intake manifold oil leaks...- Brian Meissen

alright so i finially got off my butt and started working on the car again..busy with work and just didnt really feel like working on it anymore honestly.
anyways, so i got it all ripped apart and got that plug in (the 3rd pic is where that plug was missing btw) and then got it all put back together, which is when the fun started..
when i started to crank it my ecu wasnt picking up the distributor and wasnt firing the injectors and i also didnt have any spark...great..
i started ripping stuff back apart and checking everything out. after about 4-5 hours of electrical testing i found out it was a bad coil and a burnt fuse..
replaced the fuse and coil, went through everything again, crossed my fingers and fired her up. little smoke from the header wrap but so far no leaks/fires, knock on wood, but she runs kinda rough, real sluggish but i still got to work on the tune. ill post a vid in a min, sound kind of sucks on the vid though but ill get another one when i get her running a little better..

So what caused the leak? The open hole that you have pictured? Or was it leaking from the oil pressure sensor? I can't find that hole in any pictures of my LT1... I don't remember ever seeing a hole there on my engine.
