got my motor mounts dropped off for powder coat today...guy said they should be done tuesday-ish.... if they come back looking pretty good then ill start taking my big stuff in...

I spent most of the day fixing the in-laws truck today...still kinda working on it...some sort of short somewhere... all i got done today was a little bit of prep work to drop the gas tank tomorrow (hopefully) and i got my k-member put together (background is my moser axles ).. hopefully tomorrow i can get that tank dropped and start working on how/where im going to put in the fuel cell and pump

Big difference between a "hacked up" car and deleting the a/c and all of its componets. I did some deletions and I wouldnt call my engine bay "hacked up"

true but if i delete something i want to do it right. And im talking right down to getting a non-AC HVAC cluster.

my car also weighs 3710lbs with me and a 1/4 tank Joel and look its a 9" away from 10s

holy crap! wheres the weight coming from? I have a 10" sub, amp, iron engine block, and a T56 ... pretty sure youve got none of that!

Honestly I have no idea, my car is full weight minus the fiberglass hood. Heck I just took the spare tire and jack out last time I was at the track. I know the stock muffler add a good 40lbs.

You guys are cracking me up with the whole AC/defrost thing. For a trailer queen drag car I would tear it out for weight/ease of extra space in engine bay. For a car that sees any road use for any months other than June-Aug I'd leave the defrost. The extra weight savings doesn't overtake the fact we live in MI and I've seen 65 degrees on Christmas and snow flakes in September.

...and for the record Joel, I would leave yours intact. Your car is too nice to start hacking up like that.

I can put it on a scale for you and take a pic if you'd like I'm 200lbs so the car is 3510 with a 1/4 tank.

true but my car is heavy. Weighed 37xx with me in and a 1/4 tank of gas. and that was before I gained 30 pounds

Finally got the gas tank out...took me all morning..was such a pain but its out now Now im going to have to find a good spot for the fuel cell, got a few ideas but want some opinions... i was thinking about cutting a section out right near the trunk and making a frame from angle iron for the tank to drop into...i think if i do it right i can set it up so i can use the existing spot to fuel the tank from.... that or make no major modifications and place it where the t-tops go in that little well and have to fuel the tank from the hatch.... again the car isnt going to be driven but the warm months once in a while...primary purpose is the track.. ideas/suggestions?

You might be able to get away with using a ceramic heater in place of your hvac defrost, just maybe.

I'm really curious as to what my car weighs with me in it seeing as I'm only 137lbs, no spare tire or jack. I also unbelted my A/C a long time ago and have yet to pull the condenser and other crap out.

why unbelt the a/c and then no remove the condenser and lines? You do know that the a/c shuts off when you go WOT so its pointless to remove aside from weight purposes.

My A/C doesn't work and I figured I could ditch some drag by removing the belt. I will be removing the rest of it this spring though. I suppose I could get it to work by recharging it but I would never use it anyway.

Yeah you have to raise the car so the wheels are off the ground, panhard rod and the brace need to go as well as right rear spring...taking off the rr wheel makes it a little easier too but that's about it
