Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
is he going to make that much rwhp through an auto with just a 224 cam? I could see the lower bound of the goal happening, but 400 not so easily.
Depends if dyno numbers are really the goal.
I personally don't read much into Dyno numbers as their too easy to manipulate to make people happy.
To me driveability is more of a factor and the TR224 is a proven Cam in the LS1. With his suggested gearing and the stock heads a larger cam would only produce a little more power at a higher rpm. That's why I said bigger is not always better, it's just bigger.

dyno numbers are not important, just kind of a goal to head in the right direction. If I am shy of those numbers I will survive, lol. I know with an auto those are harder to hit than a manual. A solid runner though that I can get up and move quickly would be nice. Doesn't have to be a huge cam. I know the 224 is a popular cam for the ls1 and proven performer hence why I am leaning that way

If im not mistaken the difference in power between an auto and a manual is about 3-5 percent
I would like to recommend a 230/230 .612/.592 111+2. I used it in a build with stock heads and it made great power. The tuner even commented on it saying it was the perfect medium between to small and to big. It made the power of a big cam but also made power under the curve and had the driveability of a much smaller cam.
I'm not going to guarantee any power numbers. Dyno numbers with an auto mean nothing IMO. A member here only made 360RWHP in his stalled auto car but still managed to run mid 11's @ 3600lbs.

i agree a stock LS1 would react very well to that. Im a big fan of anything right around 230 for a good mix of fun and streetability. My 226/234 isnt bad at all and I even made it worse for myself with a 650 idle.
Phil tuned it and he recommended shifting at 7K on a stock GTO tach, not sure if that matched up with his tuning software but he was impressed it pulled up top like that.
just got off the phone with berger, have some new goodies heading this way tomorrow
Didn't order the ls7 lifters though, double checking on pricing as they seemed a bit expensive when compared to the compcams. Like alot more. Apparently like 130 a piece? Is that right? I was thinking it was 130 for a set.
