  • [Restoration] 88 iroc z inner wheel well/inner fender/wheel house

    got a problem here...noticed some rot on my inner wheel houses in the rear and one in the front drivers side i would like to repair these or have these repaired any posts threads etc etc etc.... will help alot!!!!!

      ...ooooh.

      That's the same problem my IROC had, and why it's not fixed already - that's the inner quarter panel...

        Your best bet for the front is like I was telling you yesterday. I found a clean 3rd gen at the junkyard and had them cut out the inner wheel well for me. I then measured/cut out my rust andhole and measured/cut the clean part. I cut the clean part 1/2" bigger on all sides, layed it in place, and welded it. Mine looked decent but I didn't care because it was under the coolant bottle. If you really wanted to make it look good you would just cut it the same size as the hole you cut in the wheel well so it sits flush and then grind down the welds before you paint.

          thanks tom i was trying to find some threads on this because theres a clean rs at the junkyard and i was going to try to install the whole fender wells in the rear

            I'm not a body man but that seems like you would have to rip out the interior and do pretty much the same thing. I don't think it would matter if you did it from the inside or outside. I'd probably do it from the inside.
