  • [Project] CRead's project progress

I figured I would start a progress thread since I have about 3 different projects goin on with my car. I am planning on doing the Front suspension rear suspension and braking system.

I'm starting with the front suspension. I was planning on just doing a pretty basic setup. The original plan was to pull the front a-arms and have them powdercoated, put del-alum bushings in them and go with the qa1 coilover conversion. well like most of my projects it snowballed and now this is what i've got.

I decided to go with the SCandC stage 1 kit with the upper a-arms, and tall howe ball joints. I am very happy with these the support at SCandC is awesome too. I would highly recommend them. I knew I wanted to go with the qa1 coil over conversion so I got that with the 550 lbs springs. The lower control arms are Heidt's. I was planning on reinforcing my stock lca's for the coil over's and then having them powdercoated and using del-alum's but I got these for a steal. and It was almost cheaper to use these than do what I wanted to do to the stock ones. I also have an AGR 12:1 steering box that I will be putting on at the same time. All I am waiting for is the front tie rod's. I'm going with moog inner's and the pro-touring f body True-steer kit. My car will be lowered so hopefully that will take care of any bump steer.

I am hoping to have this all together in the next couple of weeks so i'll post some pics with the install and after pics.

The uppers I got from SCandC.com. they are awesome to deal with. I got the ultralight stage 1 package. The lowers are Heidt's that i got an awesome deal on ebay.

I more than likely will be doing it on the meet and greet weekend so probably not. I am waiting on the pro-touring fbody tie rod package.

for the brakes i am not a hundred percent posative yet. I have a set of wilwood front brakes that I havn't put on yet but am thinking of the corvette c6 all the way around. but if I go with the vette brakes new wheels will be in order also. so I may sell the wilwood set and buy the others. I also have a hydroboost setup and wilwood brake booster that will be going on.
