Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
My hat's off to James! He's been great crawling under the car to do a majority of the sandblasting. Surely this will be the nastyest and most thankless part of this project. I think things will roll along pretty fast once we get the bottom finished up and painted.
Thanks for the hard work and dedication, James!

I think it is because I take it in and out all the time, the rubber has just stretched out, especially at the bottom where it is really thin. It annoys me more then anything.

Great work guys, thanks James.
I am planning to get over there on Tues afternoon and maybe next weekend.
I'm just finishing up a 78 hour week at the plant so I haven't gotten a whole lot else done this week

By the way there are pics of the sand blasting in the WMCC Newsletter wmcamaro.org
In other Project DZ74 news
The wheels have been ordered!!! These are custom made 17 inch 10 spoke Minilite replicas with a cast center and polished barrel. They are from a company out in California called Team 3 Wheels. This is a much closer replica to the original Minilite wheels that the real '74 IROC cars had than the American Racing Minilite wheel. Loooooog lead time on these as they are all made to order but we HOPE to have them in a couple of weeks.
ALSO .... (drum roll) .... We would like to welcome a new contributor on board Project DZ74
SSBC Brakes has joined us by giving us a GREAT PRICE on their complete FORCE 10 Front and Rear Disk Brake Set Up.
A great price? How about 45% off list!!!!! They saved us enough on the brakes to pay for our tires!
Welcome aboard and THANK YOU SSBC!!! www.ssbrakes.com

James was here again this afternoon and did some more sandblasting. He's got the sandblaster dialed in real good with a perfect balance between air and sand. Since I still have not recovered enough to get up and down on a creeper or on the floor, I have to depend on great friends like James to do the dirty work. James, you're great, man!
My garage may never be the same! There is sand EVERYWHERE! Once we run out of sand, we sweep up the floor and sift it through a screen, and use it again. We've got 5 1/2 five gallon buchets full of silica sand as our working stock.
I would say the bottom of the car is at least 3/4 done with the blasting. One more good session should wrap up the sandblasting. Then it will be ready for painting.
I've also been working on individule components. The motor mounts and motor mount brackets are all cleaned up and painted. The steering linkage was removed again today to prepare it for cleaning and painting. Once that's done and back on, I can install the front sway bar, and install the motor mounts to the sub frame.
When the brakes arive, the front calipers can bolt right on, and the sub frame should be done.
for progress!
