  • [Project] ebay deadbeat! new project

So someone decided not to follow through with there contact on ebay to buy my '85 Z28 and foot me the $125 bill

I decided I'm going to keep the Z and I found a deal on a 6spd LS1 tranny & a 4.8L '01 vortec so I was wonder what kind of work its going to take to get that kind of combo to work

    Thanks

I'm pretty sure ebay decided to **** over sellers now and regardless of whether you sell or not, you're still stuck with the fees. I was trying to sell my text books and listed each of them (about 7 total) twice - 14 ebay auctions. Never sold but I still had to foot the $80 bill at the end of the month for trying to sell. I think that's why Craigslist has gotten so popular - free to list even if it doesn't sell.

yep since there was a bid (or if reserve was met) you have to pay $125 regardless if you actually complete the transaction...

um, if the buyer wins and doesnt pay you can file a claim against them, if they still refuse ebay gives you the refund, I think the whole process takes like 2 weeks. I had a buyer who did the buy it now on my intercooler. They never paid so they got a week from when I filed the claim to pay, after that ebay issues them a "strike" and they refund all listing fees. You best file an unpaid item strike on that buyer right now because I believe 30 days later or something like that and you can no longer get your fees back.

I need to wait like 14 days before i file an unpaid item strike, I've done that file before and sure it leaves neg. feedback for the buyer but I've never gotten my listing fees back (would be sweet if I did though)

Who is James? I would like more info on this swap possibility as it is a good buy if it will work

well, your listing fees I guess don't get refunded but you can relist and if it sells they get refunded then. Your final value fee WILL be refunded though, and your incorrect abotu the feedback as well, it doesnt give them negative feedback (at least it didnt on the intercooler) it was stupid but they said all the person got was a "strike" and if they get too money they are suspended or banned.

Yup, he has one sweet ride too

We had this happen on a site that I was on and the guy got taken for 500
Anyway he created a thread called the "Gasper Treatment" and it went world wide in 2 days & had over 1000 hits.
We got photos of where he lived from Google, sent junk mail, called his house at all different times of the day & night, had stuff delivered, & some people even went to his house and video taped him.
About a year latter he got his money back but his Ebay life was over in a bout 3 weeks

One time I got an item off Ebay and it was delivered, turned out it didn't fit and returned and got a refund, then the seller turned around and said I didn't pay, then they banned me without any notice.
