  • That's what I thought! Dealership would be way more expensive and for that price it just seems damned worth it. All the lines are going to be formed and bent perfectly so all I have to do is bolt it right in.

                  • Got work done today. Feeling a lot better about how far along we are. My dad worked on getting the engine harness hooked up while I worked on the engine bay and what not. And time for pics.

REALLY happy I went through and labeled all the wires on the harness - made this job so much easier!

Uh oh! Where'd my fuel line go?

What do you guys think about the firewall being left black? My dad and I are both thinking about keeping the firewall and the frame rails black so they don't stand out much, but then have from the frame rails up on the wheel fender/shock tower red.

POR15's Putty - covering a lot of the holes and smoothing out the really bumpy metal.

                    POR15 work:

Brian, i think the firewall looks good in black! gives some contrast!

                      • How good does POR 15 work? I never tried it. But I think I have to much rust under my car.. can you spray or brush right over it?

Looks good brian... I think it would look cool if it said Red Alert on each valve cover..but thats just me.. I guess it would flow alot better if they were black

                        • is POR-15 the same as chasis saver?

I used chasis saver on the door rust on my truck - and its so good i swear it made the metal stronger!

Its sticks to rust better than a say a primed surface with all rust removed. If its just surface rust it'll be good but not if it's all rotted out.

                            • Seems pretty damn good. The POR-15 is good as long as there is "tooth" to the metal - according to the POR15 label. I like it so far - but I'm worried about what will happen on the parts I painted that see sunlight since supposedly POR15 doesn't like UV Light. I took a flat blade screw driver to any rust I found so I could break apart the rust as much as possible.
