  • Well we said we were jacking up the car - we're just going to drop the rear end out while we're at it!

Nah I got Russ's [Syn] old rear end to swap in.

      • So can you tell the difference between the polished and the unpolished?

        And with both of them

Aaaaaand primer coat - though I have a lot of bristles from the brush I used to paint the POR-15 on with so I need to sand them off. Mostly wanted to get the primer on to make it more one color and see how smooth the epoxy putty went on the passenger side. Pretty happy with the results!

Definitely did not. I'm buying a polished fusebox cover which goes over the actual cover so I'm just painting it. I'll probably repaint the cover black - it needed it, though.

Going to do red on the upper half and probably black on the lower half. Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight even do red for the whole engine bay except the firewall - leave the firewall black to kinda "hide" it.

                • Well we got the driver's side LCA unbolted from the body, the two bolts that hold the rear sway bar bracket on the driver's side, and the passenger side rear sway bar is busted off. Problem: Passenger side rear LCA is a ***** and doesn't want to come off. Going to hacksaw it off tomorrow.

                        • Haha yeah - I've got quite a bit back there. Thanks Michigan Winters!!!! Once the rear end gets dropped out, I'll be painting from the LCA's back with POR15. I also want to coat the rear inner wheel wells too just like I did on the front.

                          • Brian, what did you use to clean up the engine bay before you started to paint? This dont look to hard, im thinking about painting mine now? Does it all need to be sanded first? Or is the rough paint under there have enough grit to it to stick?

                            • I did a brief sand down with 400 grit to rough the paint up and help get rid of any wax or what not that could be on it. Then I just sprayed the primer on. That's what I did last time and I never had any problems - if it weren't for the rust I wouldn't have had to redo it.

                              • I may just do this then, go from the core support back, Ill probably leave the firewall, maybe not. Just automotive primer and then shoot the white right? Did you clear yours B?
