    • apparently it depends whether or not you have a 2-way or 8-way connector. which do you have?

      GMPD has the two way:

          • Good find, Joel, I searched on shbox but came up empty. Probably because I was looking for coolant sensor instead of module.

Honestly, I don't care what I get as long as it's cheap and plugs the hole... I don't have the harness to plug into the coolant indicator, I just want to plug the hole.

              • Lower Spring Seat for the front shocks (rubber piece the springs sit in) - Discontinued
              • Coolant Sensor on the radiator - doesn't exist in GM's parts computer. The guy searched through the electrical categories and radiator components and could not find any sensor part #s.
              • LT1 PCM mounting bracket - Discontinued
              • LT1 PCM plugs - would have to be purchased as the whole harness, not sold individually, and the harness is discontinued anyway.

Out of all those, the Coolant sensor is the most important because until I find something to put in that hole I have an effective 1" diameter hole in the radiator that needs to be plugged. The car can be started while the PCM rests on the passenger shock tower, and the zip ties are holding the harness plugged into the PCM. Don't need the lower spring seat to start the car, but should need it to drive

              • Actually went an entirely different route - everyone that I've talked to about the transmission cooler has been really hesitant about heat because it's not flowing through the radiator with cooling fans. So, instead of screwing around with finding a plug for that coolant sensor and then having to find a fan to mount to the transmission cooler so it'll get enough airflow, I found a used radiator on e-bay for $80 shipped and it has the coolant sensor mounted to it already. That way the trans fluid will flow through the radiator and cooled by the fans, then go out of the radiator into the trans cooler which should cool it more, and then out to the transmission.

Once I get home and look at the PCM connectors again I'll purchase those PCM connectors that I found on the EFIConnection website (thread posted separately). It looks like it's easily a $100 fix - the plugs are $12 each, the tool to get the pins out is $30, and then if I need to replace the colored bottom (blue, red, white, black) it's another $3 each.

Gary, is that insulator the rubber seat the spring sits on? That's darned cheap!
