Decided to tackle the upper console and lid. Bought an NOS upper console on ebay. Unfortunately the console came without any precut holes for the power window and hatch switches.
So.....out came the dremel. I used a micrometer to ensure all the measurements were the same so it looked like it was bought that way.
Switch holes marked out and top precut

    Finished product

Decided to do a custom real leather console lid cover. Started with a NOS lid I purchased on ebay. Sent it down to the gentleman who does custom embroidered lids for the corvette forums. We had to play with the logo and colors a bit. I had the "THE PROJECT" color stitching match the color of the car.

Mock up - lid on console

Quick shot of the new seats I picked up. Will be installing during the show. Thankfully they are the same height of the stock ones.

Also, cut out the bottom of the TPI intake base. I'll be making a home made ram air set up as soon as I visit "Home Depot" The Hawksthird gen one goes for $100. I'm aiming for less than $20.00

Yeah, the ram air setup that uses the factory air routing, but with less restriction?

      Air Conditioning ducting?

Yea...I was thinking of using the 5" or 6" alum. flex tubing and screwing part of it the the intake.

          There's a nice guide on Thirdgen.org.

I was thinking of doing that to my Camaro, but it could possibly cause issues driving in wet environments... (aka, rain/snow).

Keep two regular filters with you. When it starts to rain I take out the K&N and pop in the normal filters. Dry them out when I get home...simple

Got in and under the engine bay today with the POR-15.

Gave a good coat to the top and bottom of the rad cradle and battery tray areas (both sides).

Noticed that under the rear bumper look a little rusted....will hit that tomorrow.

Hope to paint the entire engine bay next week (if the weather holds out)...

Got out today and did a little cleaning on the car while my shoulder was still working.
Old 3rd brake light. Painted the license plate holder a while ago with black tremclad.

Decal installed. Also lens cleaned with Mothers PowerPlastic.

                    Old front marker light

Look a lot better with the Power Plastic and mini ball. Cordless battery died half way through. Still looks a LOT better though.

                      That polishing ball worked wonders!

Wow - that's incredible the difference in the front fog lamp with the powerball and power plastic! I'll have to remember that stuff!

                            Hey John,

                            It was very simple.

I put the mini powerball in the cordless drill then poured some Mothers Power Plastic onto the top of the powerball.

Placed the powerball onto the top left of the lens. Started the drill on a VERY slow speed (or the Mothers liquid will FLY EVERYWHERE).

Went in a straight line across and down back and forth (moving the powerball all over the lens). Don't be afraid to use a bit of force and push the ball onto the lens.

After the liqiid was applied everywhere on the lens, then use full speed on the drill to work the power plastic in. Then reapply liquid and start over again.

I did this twice for about 2-3 minutes each time. The resuilts you see were from 5 minutes of work. I was pretty generous with the liquid.

I have to hit it again as the lens is not quite perfectly clear. (and the battery was running down). I redo this weekend and post up.

Just wanted the lenses looking good for the show in two weeks.

Show in 2 weeks? Where is it? Brampton?
If my car is done, I may bring it, please give me the details.

Thanks for the info, I will try it once I get the car back. Where do I get Mothers Power Plastic? CDN Tire have it?
and do you think it might work on the rear lights as well?

I was referring to Speedorama/Motion. We are doing a "live" interior build on my car and making it interactive with the public (as all the other cars will be behind the fence). We are bringing something crazy like 16 cars to Speedorama 8-O

CDN tire should have Power Plastic. If not ask Mark for some (as Mothers is a club sponsor ).

Should work on rear light (my next project). Also remember to get some Mothers Back To Black forthe black trim. Works great (I used some on my louvers).

Why not come by the show. It at the EX (Direct Energy Centre, Toronto) from March 27th to 29. Mothers will have a display at the show

Come by and say hi so I can put a face to the name. Getting tired of always seeing the "Arthur" crowd anyway
