Yup skipping out on the Family vacation is a bad idea, besides Mickey is one cool mouse!
I'm taking the family visit him again for 10 days in november.

Well, here's the latest and it isn't much. Got a driveshaft, got the headers on but not tight yet, gotta drop the gaskets on. Water pump is on, and picked up the bumper from storage.

Now for the bad news, I'm leaving for vacation next week, so when I get back there will only be a week and a half before the M&G. OTII will not make the M&G this year unfortunately. However, I will be continuing in hopes of getting it out at some point this summer yet. Hopefully before the 4th of july.

Small update. Got the gaskets put on the headers and tightened them down to the heads, Got the tranny mount put in (only had a small block of wood in there before. Got the crossmember bolted in too. Was kinda surprised, pleasantly though, the tranny mount and crossmember bolts and holes all lined up like they were supposed to without a problem. I expected to have to persuade things a little, lol.
Before somebody says it, no, no pics, didn't get a chance to yet. Maybe the next update.

Alright, time for an update.
Been a long time, and to be honest, nothing has been done on the project. Its been a rough year, some of you may have noticed that I haven't been very active the last few months. My mom was in the hospital for 6 weeks spanning the end of January till she ended up passing away in March, my Grandmother (Dad's mom) passed away a month later on easter, I lost my job 4 days after my mom's funeral. Yep, fun year.
However, while 2009 is out for me and the 80' Z, I have promised and committed myself to having some form of fbody on the road again by april 2010 so help me god. Whether it be this one or another one, I don't know. I am toying with getting a different one, as I'd love an earlier 2nd gen.
That said, the reason for this update is, well I wanted to thank you all for your interest in this when I was working on it and let you know that, plans are in the works. I've got several projects going right now but as soon as I get a couple cleared up I plan to start working on this again, asap. Who knows, there's a small possibility the 80 could make it out before winter, but its a big if. Anyway, thanks, and I'll update as soon as I have something worthy.
