  • Heads, Cam, Valvetrain, and Injectors

Hey, just pricing out my future plans for my 3.8 (96)...not doing anything soon , but am making a list to keep my eye out for parts.

Heads - where can I get my heads and intake P&P? How much $$$ does this typically run?

Cam - What blower cams are available? Will the L67 cams work? Do I need a new Timing Chain as well?

Valvetrain (rockers/springs) - same as above, do I need to upgrade for a supercharger and/or for modified heads?

Injectors - What lb injectors? (not sure on psi yet, nothing radical)

that site is your friend for building your motor They are the best for the things you are asking, their setup runs 12s NA, so yea they know what they are doing when it comes to our heads/cam/intakes

Just get gtp injectors, they are 36# and will handle plenty of power

thanks alot, I didn't check there but they seem to have alot of the stuff I was looking into. Looks like $1,400 + bolts and gaskets for the Stage 1, Ported Intake, and Blower cam.

or you can wait for zzperformance to release there aluminum heads here in the next month, they will be some amazing heads that have the potential to flow a ton more than stock ported heads. gonna be a pretty penny for them though, but they are going to be the best

O I have time...I just picked up a 40hr/wk+ job, so I'm going to start saving and finish paying off some debt then I'll be good to go start collecting parts, build a separate 3.8, then swap it out...

They will be more than $1,6xx then?

zzp haven't announced the prices yet but I would imagine for a set of ported ones it would be more than 1600, but then again time will tell what they price them at.

                        ahh I need money!!!

I'm most likely going to end up buying a new engine, my current 3.8 has 120K, runs great, but I want this setup to last
