id run multiple safety, run a WOT switch on the TB or get TPS switch that detects WOT, also run a fuel pressure safety switch, and a window switch, if your a manual car they make a TPS switch that is a bypass style so that it wont spray in 1st gear to help with traction. but i would go wet if you plan on modding extensively. if your just going to stay reletively stock a dry kit is fine. a bottle heater isnt realy mandatory, but it does help keep your bottle pressure consistant, a purge kit also isnt mandatory, but its nice to have nitrous feed right to the solinoid at the line instead of waiting that split second for the feed to get there. if you plan on going bigger than 100 i would get something to pull some timing. they say 2 degrees for every 50 hp, but my personal rule is 2 degrees for every 50 hp after 100, anything under 100 your cars computer will pull enough timing on its own.

I can tell you on thing..if you arent into electrical..do NOT try to install nitrous. It'll boggle your mind how many damn wires, relays, ect ect you have to do with nitrous. I have all the safety items on mine, fpss, wot, heater, purge, all that shit. The harness i added with all the wiring was huge lol.
Wiring doesn't scare me at all. I've put Nitrous on cars at work before and to me the worst part about it was working down low for so long. I can't stand working under the dash.

Well have fun with the spray sir. I would say maybe get the wet shout if you can. Also If your going to port the heads and maybe send them out try eportworks.com

They have great lt1 & ls1 head and came packages

for lt1 they have 3 stages that i know of

              pump gas HP

              LE1 390rwhp 1200

              LE2 420 rwhp 1700

              LE3 430rwhp 2050

So if you want to have a nice head and cam go with Eportworks.com

Also if you spray 390rwhp with a 125 shot. its like 490rwhp.

So while your at it taking off the heads. just pull the block. And Buy some speed pro forged pistons . ALso New rods ( for the money H-beam) or at the lest you will need some ARP bolts.

              Then dropon some copper gaskets.

Then when the winter comes around TURBO THE CAR
