  • Ring Gap with 150 shot

Heres my issue, I asked the machine shop to file fit my rings to the end gap of .020 and .022 according to Weiscos gap chart which is "street-moderate turbo/nitrous"
    http://www.wiseco.com/PDFs/Manuals/RingEndGap.pdf

Well instead they must of had some miscommunication and gapped it for the "nitrous race only" which is a gap of .028 and .030. I find this rather big for a mostly street driven lt1 car that will be spraying no more than a 200 shot. Any advice would be awesome.

Well if your worried about it I would ask tthem why they went with that gap. If it's there screw up and you're concerned about it and they admit they messed up ask of they'll buy another set and they can keep those. ..

What shop did the work? I honestly think it won't be a huge deal but it would bug me to know there was some "miscommunication"

Motor might smoke a hair , could always put a vacuum pump on it

Tight sometimes works, loose always will.

          I agree with running it.

No problem. Just keep an eye on oil level for a bit, shouldn't be an issue though. I'd guess a half quart or less over 3000 miles.

What would you think of running a catch can?

200 isn't a small shot. with spray you're always better with a little too much gap than not enough. Now when you decide to up that shot to 300 you'll still be good. enjoy.
