• Lt1 7875 turbonetics oil feed/return help.

Having a hell of a time finding the info I need... My 383 lt1 I'm switching from the f1a to the 7875 turbonetics. My question is, oil feed line and restrictor size. I know with ls1 they run 4an with a restrictor. But LSx at idle run a lot more oil pressure than us LTx guys do. My OFI kit I bought came with a 3an feed.. I think this is too small... What restrictor should I be using and what oil pressure needs to be seen at the turbo. The drain size I'll be running is a 10an. But I don't want to over oil ( push oil into the inlet) or under oil (burn up the turbo).

2nd. Without removing the motor... I need to tap my pan... I have a canton pan. I was just going to use the supplied 1/2 npt fitting on the top of the wing, but they don't make a 1/2 to 10an fitting. And I thing the 1/2 npt won't drain enough anyway. This basically my biggest bolt up of finishing the turbo swap! 50 bucks worth of lines and fittings stand between getting this kit done and staying on the jack stands.

have you tried to contact tnetics directly regarding the feed line? If not I'm sure Superman09 would be glad to help you out.

Optimally I'd like to weld a bung. But right now it's not readable to yank the motor. My gf would leave me if I pull it lol vortech has an instructional on how to like punch the pan then tap it with a tap full of grease. The canton pan is a fabricated pan (welded together) it's like the 242t? Something like that.

The turbo is originally from you. I bought it from a guy who bought it and needed some money. But the tag on the box is Huron speed. It's a 7875 .96ar

LS motors we run -3 or -4an lines typically with NO Restrictor. No restrictor required or recommended from Turbonetics unless you are seeing 90 psi oil pressure. I like the choice of running -3an line as turbo require very little oil pressure compared to engines, and the -3an seems to supply just enough less than -4an to make them happy. I would recommend starting with a -4an line with no restrictor to start and the -10an drain for sure. If you are having some issues with oil coming through and out the down pipe, I would back down to a -3an line but I doubt you will have any issues unless your engine has very high oil pressure.
For the drain, I would drain the oil, drill your hole using a lot a grease on the bit to help catch the shavings. Then tap with a reverse feed bit and lots of grease again. After I would pour some cheap oil through and drain it to push out any shavings that may have entered and you should be good to go!
