Anyone want to "read" a nitrous spark plug for me?

Its hard to say then on fuel, next time you can even shut it off right at the return road and pull a plug there. driving it back screws up the fuel read, so I cant comment on that - although I think it would have been darker if you drove it back.
I might back off the timing a degree or 2 and see if it picks up mph. I'd start with that.
What is the engine setup? carb efi? how are you spraying

LT1, just a cam and 12:1 compression. 100 shot with a single nozzle. I had a Mallory 685 pulling 3* on that passOriginally posted by ThreeHonks View PostIts hard to say then on fuel, next time you can even shut it off right at the return road and pull a plug there. driving it back screws up the fuel read, so I cant comment on that - although I think it would have been darker if you drove it back.

overall it looks pretty decent. tips to watch out for: dont get too crazy with too much fuel, you can cause ring land issues.
If you want to tune well, pay attention to your mph on each pass closely. What plug are you running?
I can tell you at least are aware what to do by seeing you cut the threads off. Idk how many people ask me to read a plug that has the threads on it still.Last edited by ThreeHonks; May 13th, 2013, 06:26 PM.

It is a NGK BR7EF @ .35 I was only given a slip for the 1/8, I ran probably 1000' before I let off.Originally posted by ThreeHonks View Postoverall it looks pretty decent. tips to watch out for: dont get too crazy with too much fuel, you can cause ring land issues.

I just used what the NX card said to for the 100 shot, it is the only pass I have made on the system so far. I knocked over a second off the 1/8 mile, hopefully with some tuning I can get more out of it without spraying more.Originally posted by ThreeHonks View Postthats a good plug for your application. you can run more nitrous on that plug too, but I might gap to .032" on a 150 shot. are you on stock jetting that the nitrous company recommends or have you played with it at all?sigpic

just noticed this thread, can you get a better pic of the strap? looks like the timing mark is in a good spot just want to verify. As for the fuel as Ryan mentioned its hard to tell with some idle time because from those pics it looks a bit rich. near the bottom of the porcelain you should have a smaller thinner line and the base ring (the top of the thread near the electrode also look to be a tad dark but overall looks pretty decent. Make sure to take a nice magnifying glass and light to the porcelain as well and make sure it doesn't appear to have any black specs on it, this would actually be small particles of the piston and are obviously not a good thing but I don't think that an issue at that jet size and timing but something to keep aware of down the road.Doing less with more
