  • NX Product Review.

I figured I will start a product review on NX.

What I have is a NX Proton Plus kit with a Gen X 2 accessory kit.
So far I am not happy.
I haven't even put it in the car yet and I'm not happy.
    Thats pretty sad.
Lets go over why I am not happy.

First the instructions are not specific to this kit.
It doesn't explain how to to hook up things like the purge solenoid.
I had to PM Trey on Tech to get a picture of how to hook the purge solenoid up.

Second upon figuring out how to hook up the purge solenoid I look through my accessory kit which is what the purge comes with.
Instead of receiving the 4AN to 4AN union to hook up the purge I received a 2AN 6in line with a 1/8NPT and 2AN to 2AN T fitting.
I voiced my concerns even sent pictures to Trey of what I had and circled the parts in their picture of what I wasn't sent.
He replies "You will not need that hose and the T fitting" no crap. What I am getting at is you have sent me the wrong parts and apparently you aren't going to fix that. I then told him I was just going to pick up a 4AN union and so far its been 2 days and no reply. For the record I picked up one so that problem is solved its just BS I pay 4xx for an accessory kit and things are wrong in it and you don't fix it.

Third I am getting everything setup and I have their fancy new Lightning 45 valve with built in gauge ports. In one port goes the Nitrous Pressure gauge, the other is the bottle heater sensor. This once again reverting back to first complaint is not listed in the directions how to do this, just had to figure it out. Anyways there is little 1/8NPT allen key plugs in these ports. So I bust out the allen keys. Using a long one proper sized, I could literally stand on this key and it won't budge. Tried tightening, tried loosen. Now for the best part. The stupid things stripped even using the proper sized allen. So now I can't remove them that way without having the allen spin inside.

So I will see how the rest of this goes but so far its not looking good for NX in my eyes, like I said its not even in the car and have already ran into problems.

Well the first two problems are from a couple days ago.
      The valve is from today.
Its just bs I don't know how I am going to get them out now.
Im thinking I am going to have to try heat.

They are just 1/8NPT plugs. I put my weight on the allen and it would just bend and stripped the plugs.

          This is all they are.

          EDIT:

Just put the torch to it and tried grabbing it with vice grips and oh guess what didn't work.

Trey from NX saw my post on Tech and sent me an email saying if I can't get it or cause damage to send the bottle back and they will machine them out or replace the valve assembly if needed for free.

So least they are trying to correct some of the problems.

Could have PM'd me if you had any questions on setting anything up, I have done a few! Also if you are missing parts or wrong parts, let me know and I would have gotten it corrected for you!

I didn't even think about that Jonny because I was mad haha.
I just bought an easy out kit and it broke one of the bits and the other just drilled right through the plugs and they are still in there.
Trey said I could ship it back to them and would get them out or change the valve out at no cost.
So I asked if they are going to cover shipping because I shouldn't have to pay for the shipping because I shouldn't be sending anything back.
                    Awaiting response.
