  • Turbo Balancing

Anyone know where to get it done? Local is better, looking for a fast turn around time. I left a messege with Michigan Turbo here in Grand Rapids, no responce yet. Looking to get this CHRA balanced as a whole.

I made a bonehead mistake pulling this turbo apart Didn't dawn on me what I did, more like didn't do, until I went to line everything back up after the rebuild kit was installed...no line. **** me! Forgot to run an alignment mark down the compressor, nut, and shaft.

Do you know what method they used?

I've found some places that do HSA balancing, which that require the turbine/shaft, compressor wheel, nut, and some other small parts pulled from the turbo and mailed in. $50-60 for that option. No idea on turn around time, hoping to have the car running by Wednesday...if at all possible.

I am not sure. I had damaged both of my wheels and had the entire thing rebuilt so they had my whole turbo. Its hard to compare turb around time but I would assume if you just need balancing they could do it fairly quick. They had to send my housings out for machine work and track down a bunch of stuff from Precision for me.

Bullseye will only balance their own turbos.

Heading to Michigan Turbo right now.

Michigan Turbo inspected, balanced, and installed the CHRA into the housing for $53 out the door. Dropped it off late Monday and picked it up early Tuesday. He even cleaned up the turbine wheel a bit.

                  A+

                        Same here

Now I have a new problem. Well, not new, but my father likes to listen to classic country and sip Miller Lite while he cleans the shop...usually when I'm at work...now I'm missing some parts Pulled quite a few out of the trash, only missing 3 now.
