Dont know what im looking for yet really. Need to look into tuning. I assume dry will get me the most off the bottle power, but not sure yet. I like the upgradeability of wet tho.

Well feel free to ask away, my nitrous knowledge isn't vast by any means but I've done quite a bit of reading and I'm sure Larry wouldn't mind helping either. With all the devices today you can have just as much n/a power as you have normally and have a timing tuner to pull it once you activate the nitrous. Or just use your hp tuners to load a seperate nitrous tune. There are several ways to make a kit safe. I'd wouldn't buy a dry kit to use over a 100 shot personally.Doing less with more

Non projected plugs are a must.
I use a MSD timing twister on mine that only pulls timing when the nitrous is activated. Full power NA and then I can take it to another lever. 100 shot is a good starting point. With a wet kit you won't have to buy injectors and it gives you mote options to grow.

Just shows how technology changes, 4 years ago, NGK(projected) TR7's were the recommended plugs for a 100 shot... You have to keep up with changes for sure...Originally posted by Detoxx03 View PostNon projected plugs are a must.sigpic

I don't know anything about 5.3s... I would recommend a wet plate kit, window switch, fuel pressure safety switch, etc.. You can find them relatively cheap on tech... Is your fuel system stock? Fuel flow will also determine how much you can safely spray... Nitrous outlet or HSW make a nice plate...Originally posted by sman View PostWhat should I look for in a used wet kit? Fuel system is stock, brand new pump about 2 years ago.
The 5.3 has a 9.5 to one CR, which I attribute to not making as much power as you guys using the same parts, I know theres a diff in cubes, but thats pretty small. Either way, was just curious if the full point in CR difference helped or hurt me in the n2o game.
Was checking this cool gadget out earlier, seems to be quite the multipurpose toy.

As far as I know the CR has little to no affect on running nitrous. It's definitely not like running boost. The trick gauge is a nice piece but last time I was about to buy one I heard they had stopped making them. As for a kit I'd look into a nice used plate kit from hsw or n2o outlet. I would guess a 5.3 could easily take a 100 shot or more with a good tune.Doing less with more
