    Im looking to purchase this unit? Is this a good or bad idea and why? Before I start bolt ons, I want to be able to tune computer with.

    Nope. Won't do a thing for you. Maybe something like a 2hp increase, which is something you won't even feel. Just do your bolt-ons and when you get more serious get a real tune.

    Used to own a Firebird.

      I don't know. I used a FAST programmer on my car and it sure feels like it picked up a noticeable amount. Its all above 3000 rpm, but it sure feels like I picked up something.

        if it has an auto trans it might've just made some changes like shiftpoints or line pressure, maybe lean out the top end a bit for more power, but just waiting until you do the big stuff and then getting a real tune is well worth it so that you don't waste the 300 some dollars on a handheld.
