do you have an auto or stick.. It will be harder to do with an auto.
I would go with something like a 228(not too big) or so with a 110 or 111 lsa to give it alot of lope . .561-581 are common lift Do you have headers and such?
There are many views as to what is acceptable for DD.
You can get like a G5X3 or so would be ok and sound nice

1BADAIR is 100% correct in his statements. I think you'd be happy with the cam I had 224/228 .591 .591 112 LSA. I don't think you'll need or want to go lower than a 112 LSA IMHO. Put that cam in a car with dumped duals or an open cutout and it'll chop like crazy. If you need help w/ your cam and are near GR I'd me more than happy. I am just finishing up my new cam tomorrow. Just be prepared to want a bigger one in a year or so, I know I did.Last edited by zspot98; June 14th, 2006, 11:11 PM.

Most common cams are offered in 112 and 114. Some people have had them made on a 110 or 111 to get a nastier idle. I don't know exactly how mean your looking for but I loved my Tr224 on a 112. With duals they sound even better. I would look into HPE, thunder racing, TSP and the others for a shelf gring that has been proven

I think you're working against yourself having an LS1 and all..
The sound your looking for is a big lift, a motor that pretty much runs like dick at idle.
The coil-on-plug setup an LS1 has is very good at keeping a perfect idle, you can't even tell they have cams most of the time.
LT1s on the other hand can sound cammed when they are not and even more so when they are. That is, if you're running Opti..

what do you want to get out of it... cams usually go one way or the other alot more hp alot more tq or a even amount of both... i have a isky custom grind 290 295 537 544 not a huge lift but with the durration its keeps a nice curve from there dyno test solid tq from idle to 6,700 it never goes less than 425 ft lbs on a stroker motor... the hp around 250hp at 2,500 and goes to 525 at about 6,200 so even though its a tad touchy of a cam didnt take to long to tune it in... vacume was the only problem i had but with a 1,000 rpm idle all my vacume assesories worked fine... you should look into it more... think of what mods your planning down the road... do you want alot of out of the hole power or top end power... maybe they have a list of dyno results of the cams they have ground so far see if they have a list for you to see what you will like best... anything to crazy your gonna need the computer programmed though and getting the nice loppy sound out of a newer fuel injection is hard... damn computer too smart wants it to run smooth all the time..lolOriginally posted by Frank The TankTook the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more juice.
