  • thinking or running nos ?? need input !!

i have a 94 t/a lt1 stock that i bought to play with... i have never ran nos before.. allways ran motor.. looking to rebuild the motor this winter and was wounder what is needed to us nos.. not sure yet if i want to but is there anything differant that i would need to do if i was going to built it up abit and didnt us nos?? then if i did us nos??
was thinking about the cc503 and maybe stroking it.. not sure what else.. do i have to use a msn box to timming retarding??
    or differant injectors??
basicly want to know what is involved with adding nos and want to know if i build my motor if i have to take inconsideration if im fur sure going to run it of can i just build it and then if i want to add it i can without any issues ???
    thanks for any help
also was thinking a wet kit since i have heard its better for the car

Get injectors and a pump that are going to handle the added power and hit it with the big shot!

I'd buy some 30# injectors or at least 42LB to handle the cam and nitrous.

I'll have some Ford Motorsports 30#'s for sale pretty soon here. Get some injectors, fuel pump, and get a tune for the nitrous. You should be fine if you retard the timing a bit to run with it. It also depends on what shot you're going to hit it with.

          NOS is a company
wet kits don't need bigger injectors. just a bigger pump

what about the longjevity of the motor by using nos?? i have heard that if u use nos u can count on rebuilding ur motor every year or so?? is that true or does it depend on how much u use it and how much u use??? i know it cant be good for the motor..?? i dont want to be rebuilding it constantly??

This depends on how much you plan on using the Nitrous?
                Every weekend?
Yup, you could plan on a rebuild in a year or so.

A good tune is a must!

Definitely get a forged piston to handle the extra force you are going to give it.

I'd read up before even thinking of using nitrous if you're asking those questions.

So far I've sprayed every weekend. But then again my motor is far from stock.

Ya, if he would upgrade the whole thing he would be better off but it sounds more like I want to play, what can I do?

75-100 shot to be safe with all stock stuff is where I would tell ya to play.

yes use forged pistons not hyperutectic. Oh and please refrain from referring to Nitrous as "NAWWS" Its a pet peeve of mine and it just make you sound like you heard it on the Fast and the furious.
If your only gunna use a 75-100 shot you could get away with stock pistons but ill tell you spray is addicting and you gunna want more so build it right the first time.

totaly stock motor, spray a 150 shot through it every day all day and dont worry. modern nitrous systems arent as hard on motors because they are jetted better and the pins are a better design. on a stock motor you dont need a bigger pump even on a wet kit. shit even with a little cam like the 503 you dont need a bigger pump or injectors, i ran a 355 with a 400 shot 503 cam and full boltons with ported heads on stock injectors. came in at 70 something % duty cycle at WOT if you have a 6 speed get a window switch to shut the nitrous off between shifts, if you have an auto spray through it. if your getting into the bigger shots like 2-3-400 then you need to worry about the better pistons ect... and i have personal experience with this and theres even a local guy who loves the button on a 150 shot in a bolt on only 94Z28 with like 160K on the clock, no signs of engine wear yet and its been 3 years and probably 20 bottles a year
