  • New Personal Best at the Motown Track Rental Saturday

Yeah I am excited! Finally got out of my 12.5 rut. Drove the car to the track, made 8 passes Saturday, and drove home with the A/C on. Gotta love it!

    1) 12.52 @ 126.44
-Gained 4mph over my fastest trap right off the bat. That's a good sign.
    2) 12.57 @ 125.7
-Kept the mph. Woohoo! Now just need to not spin.
    3) 12.81 @ 124.2
-Had trouble launching. Kept spinning off the line and into 2nd gear.
    4) 13.54 @ 121.0
    - Getting warmer out and spun again. Missed 2nd gear at first too. DOH!
    5) 12.39 @ 123.25
    - More launching issues. Getting frustrated......
    6) 13.35 @ 122.89
-Maybe this was the missed 2nd gear run.... Oh well. Racing is FUN!!!
    7) 12.50 @ 126.38
    -Finding my groove again
    8) 12.37 @ 126.02
-Finally got traction off the line and didn't spin going into 2nd!!!! Yeah baby!!!!!

Had a fun day hotlapping the car. Great time seeing everyone there. And glad I was able to drive the car home. Not bad on street tires. Definitely got my money's worth. Good times!

WOW...those are some nice trap speeds. 8-O You need to get some traction tho because with those trap speeds you should be running 10's.

You spun off the line, missed 2nd and still beat my best by .5 seconds, lol

I was cutting 2.2's all day. Finally managed a 2.1 that last run. And it seems to have helped.

Yeah I know I need a stickier tire, but not on the stock 10 bolt. Until I can afford a new rear street tires are all I am running. Those are my fuse. I'd rather spin the tire than break an axle. Yeah I KNOW I could run deep 11's maybe even high 10's with a better tire. But the car is intended to be my fun (and reliable) DD. So whatever it runs is what it runs. Not going to tweak it too much for the track and lose driveability.

                cool.

126 isn't enough to go 10's with a stick though

It's probably not easy but it IS possible.

Here's an example from LS1Tech (I know he's running 128 mph but he is also pretty deep into the 10's). See video below

I noticed that, lifted the fronts, but seemed like it fell flat after that.. What did you run at Milan? Also, maybe a dumb question, why does a turbo car ET diff than a NA or N20 car with the same MPH?
