Starting Nitrous Install!!

The nitrous is starting its journey into my camaro this week....i dont have a lot of time, but i got the car out from the back of the barn today and am going to start intalling it...still not sure if I have all the parts, but ill figure it out

Ordered my bottle heater today as well....the black one from dynotune, cant wait for that....

and well see about gauges from Travis as soon as i get more money

QUESTION: Just from looking at the parts I have, ive looked for where the jets go, and it seems that its not there, or I just cant find it....but ill keep looking i guess- and i know im gunna have to buy some jets too.

Any Comments or Sugesstions????

The jet goes into the nozzle right where the line connects to it

running the bottle and lines is the easy part the only thing you have to dick with a bit is your wiring and switches....

I gotta quick question. Is the nitrous introduced into the engine via pressure when the solenoid is opened? Or how does that work?

ya its forced right in... same reason its a good idea to run a bottle blanket or heater... the hotter you make the outside of the bottle the better the pressure of the cold nitrous will be comming out... and on a wet kit its the same way but the solenoid for fuel just opens and you need the fuel pressure to push it through... i havent had to much of a problem with my no2 pressure without a blanket or heater yet... but im getting atleast a blanket soon... but my fuel took a while to get the pressure right... it usually cant be too much because you have the jet set... but i had a problem of too little and i noticed it lean out ever so often when i hit it... still not bad of a setup though... you have the main power to the solenoid... and then your switch you have to wire eaither WOT swith or a button.. really not bad took me about 45 minutes to put it on mine and its a carb setup... a single nozzle setup like that should be a sinch.

a blanket doesnt heat your bottle, it helps maintain the heat, but the heater applys it, optimal bottle pressure is 800-1100 psi i normaly keep mine at 900-950. remember the needle needs to be roughly 8 inches before the tb, but after the MAF, you dont wanna spray through your maf.

Your wrong, on dry kits you MUST be before the MAF in order for your computer to add the needed fuel for the extra air coming in.

Wet kits you do not want it before the MAF because you are already adding the fuel that is needed and you wouldn't want the MAF adding more fuel.

the heater does heat the bottle. Thats how the pressure goes up!

your wrong, your never supposed to spray through your maf, even on a dry kit bud,(except LS1 where you plumb it into the lid) the pressure is added by a vacume line that taps into your fuel pressure regulator, if you spray through your maf you will most likely blast off your barbs, hell you can break them by touching them, what do you think 1100psi of blasting nitous is gonna do? i have a dry kit on my SS and a dual stage wet kit on my Z28, ive had 4 cars with spray, ive hooked up probably 15 kits, wet and dry, i have alot of experience with nitrousoxide. oh and i did say that the heater heats, but the blanket just maintains the heat, a blanket WILL NOT heat your bottle

i don't know jack crap about spray...but i thought those blankets are "heated" or some of 'em are and they do "heat" the bottle?.....just what i've heard or interpreted... i know you're run'n alotta juice through that Z of yours!

ive never heard of a heated blanket, every blanket ive ever seen is just a padded cover.

on a 3.8l v6 you put the dry kit nozzle into the lid or intake which is BEFORE the MAF. Trust me I know for a fact that you spray before the maf with a dry kit on the 3.8l fbody. The 3.8l MAF is a different setup than you LS1 guys but you definitely put it before the MAF. After church I will post pics

You can see the MAF in the TB in this pic, it is the black box on the top. Nozzle goes where that brass piece is in the acordian intake stuff. This is a dry setup.


This is a wet setup, the nozzle is just beyond the MAF sensor so it doesn't spray onto the MAF.
