  • Throwing codes, why?

Wasn't sure where to put this, so feel free to move it.. Ever since I got my nitrous installed I keep throwing MAF codes, P0101, voltage out of range.. Other than 2 test runs I haven't used the nitrous.. Going to try changing air filters and cleaning the MAF, just seems wierd that it started since the install.. Also threw a #2 Knock sensor code today, forgot to get the code number. He cleared the codes and the car runs fine..1st time I've ever thrown a knock sensor code.. How concerned should I be with a knock code? The guy at the shop where they did the work didn't seem to concerned with it.. When it(SES light came on) happened I was half ass getting on it in first and when I shifted to 2nd it was like I was driving a carbureted car and it flooded out, then I lifted and hit the gas again and it was fine.. Getting tired of these damn MAF codes.. Anyways, I know no one can really diagnose what the hell is going on, just ranting!! Might be an 02 ws6 for sale soon!!

hey, about that knock sensor code...you're not the only one that has thrown one. my light came on (knock sensor 1), i got it erased and drove for awhile and it came back on. I drove as far as i dare to get as much gas out of it as possible and filled it back up. I had the battery disconnected for 4 hrs last night to turn the light off. I haven't drove it yet to see if it's gonna come back on. Hopefully it's just a bad tank of gas...guess we'll see

Yeah, I remember you saying you threw that code.. I'm not to worried about it, running fine.. If it blows, it sits until I can afford a 408!!

After the MAF, which is why I don't understand the MAF issues all of a sudden and I haven't sprayed in a few weeks..

lol, sorry Mike.. No swap.. No pinstripes either.. But I am going to take it to a paint guy and see if he has any subtle suggestions, paint wise, to change the look a little..

check the connetions on the maf, the wires and the connetion at the pcm. if possible ohm out the wireS from the maf. just unplug the pcm and check the whole wire to see if there is a problem there if not you may need a new maf.
