  • Nitrous miss?

Trying to figure out what's going on? I tried running the nitrous last week, but only at around 700 psi for reasons beyond my control and had a bad miss. Today I ran it at 950 psi and still had a mid to high rpm(off and on) miss. Bottle pressure was still 950 psi after the run.. Also everytime(only twice) I run the nitrous I throw a MAF code(Voltage out of range, not sure of the number) hence the SES light you see. Any ideas what could be going on? No sense running it at the track til I get the bugs out and based on this vid I'd say my son saw the wrong speed last time out...lol Looks like 120-maybe 125 top end in 3rd.. Tranny is shifting at 6100 on my aftermarket tach..

First vid is cutouts open NA, only miss is against the rev limiter on the 1-2 shift.

Second vid is tonights pass on a 100 shot.. Am I crazy or is there a miss here that isn't on the NA run?????

I'm not sure, but I wouldn't want to be running it if your having codes thrown. Maybe talk to the shop that tuned it for you. Hopefully you figure it out, I'm curious what that thing is going to run when you launch it at the track.

Trust I am calling them tomorrow! I was there last week when it threw the code the first time, that's why I know what is probably is.. Something is out of whack.

when it sets a code for the maf it starts running in speed density I believe. The tune is probably off without the maf. What plugs and gap are you running

basically it calculates flow from RPM and load instead of actual flow from the MAF

sounds like a miss with about 11 seconds left in the second video, looks like right at 5000 rpm in second gear

Wet kit.. Nitro Daves Plate system.. The miss is no where near as bad as it was last time, but it's still a miss and setting off codes.. Last night it threw the code just by turning on the bottle heater, wasn't even spraying.. Something is not right, going to take it back to the shop today..

Yep, that's the one.. Does it in 3rd too, although harder to hear on the vid

Throwing code P0101.. last night it threw it merely by turning the bottle heater on.. They're going to fix it, just have to wait for a slot.. Until then I'll just drive NA...

It's a MAF code.. Voltage spike or something like that.. Could also be caused by a dirty MAF, oil of K&N filter, dirty connection, etc.. What's wierd is I haven't thrown a code in 2 years, wasn't until after the nitrous install that it did it.. Also 1BADAIR, when you have the P0101 code you are running in SD mode.. Had the code cleared again today, gonna drive it for a couiple weeks and see if the code comes back while running NA. I doubt it will, but agreed to give it a shot. I think the tune is off based on everything I've read on LS1tech(and yes I waded through the B.S.)

                              Got some info from Phil.
.P101 is the MAF performance flag. Its looking at how much the rate of change in flow occurs at a given rate. If it changes values quicker than the 101 error table it will set the code. ITs common if they are spraying into the MAF or a pretty big wet shot is sprayed after and It usually flags it when it first hits.
