  • Eaton TVS upgrade for Cobalt

Harrop engineering in austrailia just released the pictures of the new Eaton TVS R1320 upgrade for the Cobalt SS (2005-2007)

Its capable of 400+hp(dont try that on a stock cobalt) and is significantly more efficient than the stock M62 (75% vs 60-62%)

So for all the cobalt ss owners... this is going to be the mod to have!

Im wondering how a SS/SC with one of these compares to the SS/TC, and compared to LS1 fbodies.

With this supercharger the SS/SC will easily surpass the SS/TC and likely be putting down over 300whp on an engine with supporting mods.

an LS1 is just a bit of "traction" away. My guess is that we will see many low 12's with this setup and supporting mods.. and likely a few 11's if built right and hold together.

Only problems will be Traction, wheel hop, and transmissions..

How much does one of those babies cost? I'm considering picking up a super charged cobalt yet this year. The price is coming down more and more on them.

The initial units will be $2,250.. but likely going up because the US dollar is decreaseing vs Austrailia (where Harrop is located)

But you'll need quite a bit of supporting mods too.. I'd say $4k and you'll have a really strong runner.. a bit more if you really want to push it.

FYI there are NON supercharged Cobalt SS' too which are just a standard 2.4 Ecotec with like 170hp or something.

                          probably wasnt a supercharged version...

if it was 4 doors, didnt have a big wing, or automatic it definately wasnt supercharged
