Hp doesn't really mean that much to me. It leaves a good 50 foot of rubber from 30, I'm happy with that

      • well I just couldnt leave this car the way it was, If I cannot have a v8 i must make this as fast if not faster than some. Soooo, I just purchased an intercooler and will be installing that to go with the current sc setup. Looks like I have a lot ahead of me, I need to install my racetronix pump that has been waiting to go in, a 10psi pulley, and now the intercooler setup. Hoping near 300rwhp or close with this setup. Suspension mods will also be vital. So much for leaving the car the way it is for a while.. lol

here are some teaser pics, more pics to come as progress happens but that will be slow as I am real busy at work right now. Cant wait to get this thing on the dyno and to the track once this is all together.

          • Soooo... this car is gone, right? Any chance you still have drawings for the blower bracket? I'm thinking if my car doesn't sell by spring I'll keep it and rekindle my plans to boost it... and a few other things.

yea, car is in indiana, supercharger kit went to colorado, and various other pieces I had to support the supercharger kit are dispersed around the country. I think there was a file posted in this thread somewhere? of the head unit bracket? otherwise my bro MIGHT still have them somewhere in his room. Ill tell you right now though you will probably be better off buying a used sc or turbo kit already put together off camarov6 or ebay. Ive seen powerdyne kits that arent fully complete go for about 1500. And if you dont have accessibility to a CNC machine and a shop to work in your going to have a pain of a time trying to fab stuff up. We had a lot of favors done for us and we have a shop to work in and it was still a pain. I cant imagine what fabrication would cost if we didnt have the favors done..

One more last tidbit, hate to say it but at the end of the day my v6 wasnt even CLOSE to what the new ls1 car is. However, I would not have my current car if I didnt make so much off all the v6 parts I sold.

              • Upgrading to an LS1 car or swapping my V6 (yes I know it's a huuuuge pain) is still a consideration. However, I may Time Attack race it, and my decision will be largely based on the penalties/bracketing of a NA 5.7l vs. a blown 3.8l. Other mods will be suspension and aero.

                • I didnt read all the way thru but car looks really good. Saw that you were looking for ideas on exhaust and honestly the best sound that I have found for my 3.8 was my stock LS1 exhaust off my Z28. I tried a whole lot of mufflers and nothing just did it right until I put that on there. I also removed the cat. If not, atleast get another bullet muffler in the I-pipe section to kill some of that rasp.

But either way its a cheap swap, shoot, most people are given um away if you look on the right sites. Just thought I would suggest it. Good luck with the car.

lol if you read further you would see I found an exhaust, i acctually put an slp loudmouth on the car for function, it was way too loud though. Car is since long gone, parts were sold from New York to LA, and car is now bone stock and a kid in indiana is cruising around in it lol.
