i use liquid luster...its what we use at the body shop for our exterior details. that being said, i was the detailer for a few years before i moved up tot he paintshop side, and if you have scratches, scuffs, yada yada, they'll still be there, waxed or not. i usually claybar the car first to get the rail dust and stuff off, the wipe the lowers with wax and grease remover to get the tire mung and tar off, then procede to tape off the belt mouldings and emblems and buff away, starting with waffle foam pads and cutting compounds, working up to glazes pads and 3Ms "ultrafina SE" and the blue pad to go with it, which is some awesome stuff. wax merely "seals" in the paint and protects it, but will hide fine scratches from shammys and washmitts for a few washes anyhow. i've seen people try to use Tshirts and stuff to wax with, big no no....use the applicator given with the wax, cheese cloth even works good, and microfiber rags are great for wiping it back off. there are alot of good waxes, most give same results but its all in what to do before you wax that makes the difference to me.1967 chevy sportvan deluxe-fun cruiser

Anyone ever use the Megs Mirror Glaze series waxes #6 and #20? I just picked some up today. I'm gonna work with it later this week. Gotta get the shine back into the car...

i use some of wizzards buffing compounds and such, pretty good stuff, but i do like 3Ms cutting compound alot better than wizzards, their turbo cut is pretty harsh, but finish cut and shinemaster are top notch for sure.1967 chevy sportvan deluxe-fun cruiser

Zaino at an AutoZone?, where and do you remember how much was on the shelf.sigpicWe live in the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave. If you're not willing to defend her, you're not worthy to live here, so get out.

I use Zaino, if there is something better out there I would be willing to give it a try, but have'nt seen anything yet. Polish is superior to wax in several ways.
I have found that Zaino is easier to use than anything else too.sigpicWe live in the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave. If you're not willing to defend her, you're not worthy to live here, so get out.

huh? they are completely different things.. this is like saying "the steering wheel is superior to the gas pedal in many ways"Originally posted by ramairusty View PostPolish is superior to wax in several ways.
Polish = mild abrasive to smooth surface imperfections
Wax/sealant= layer of material placed on top of clear coat to act as a barrier between your paint and the elements

And I have to say, Zaino isn't superior by anything. They just package it all up in a friendly kit. If I applied a layer of Meguiar's gold class wax, then used detail spray to clean off the residue, then another layer of gold class, then detail spray, layer, detail spray, etc just like people do with Zaino, mine would come out just as good. That's the difference -- most people don't do multiple layers and all the steps until they get a Zaino kit that spells it all out for them.- Brian Meissen

yup i use meguiars gold class too. except i only do one coat then just quick detail spray it for a while whenever it needs a shine. the bird and the goat only get waxed once a year. maybe cause they each have only seen rain 2 or 3 times in the last 20 years. haha2000 Trans Am l 1967 Firebird
