  • Put a cushion under your jaw... it's about to hit the floor.

I bought a Porter Cable 7424 and Sonus SFX-2 Enhance Swirl Remover a week ago and it finally came yesterday. My dad's porsche has always had tons of scratches and swirl marks up and down the sides of the car... we don't know what it's from, if someone previously used to live on a dirt road and would go screamin down it and kicked the dirt up, or some previous owner maybe wiped his car off and never actually hosed the dirt off? But anyway, here are the before pictures:

    And now the after:

no tell me you didn't do the sealant that's the stuff you should never ever use you may as well strip the paint off it ruins it (didn't you see my post on project camaro?)

Sealant is great for the paint -- I've been using it for a couple years now with great success. It protects the finish and keeps the paint looking great even after it's been through multiple down pours.

it hurts the paint, paint doesn't need protecting what are you protecting it from water that's what it's job is. I always love the thing about it protecting the paint it's urethane paint(and acid rain will wipe out the sealant and wax too) washing and polishing are all that is needed (polish lasts longer than wax since it physically levels the surface wax just fills it up)

Ah well, what I do when I detail my car gets great results, and plenty of compliments, so I'll just stick to what I do.

I read somewhere that the damage caused by silicone based sealers and waxes is that they don't allow the paint to 'breathe.' Polish allows it to do so, and it actually helps the paint to last longer. I'm not trying to start an argument, just passing on information, that's all. To each their own, that's what I always say.

Yeah, I typo'd our address or Zaino typo'd my address so it had to go back somewhere for UPS to get the correct address but they did. In any case, I claybarred most of my car but I still got like half of the driver's door to the back of the driver side of the car, and then the bottom of the rear bumper... already did the top, tail panel, and back of my brickyard spoiler. It sucks, apparently I drove through a bad tar/ashpalt section at some point because my car is just polkadotted with black specs... and i just had most of it painted in August, so it had to be between August and November. Last week or so when I washed it was the "dawn wash."
